Meet Our Team

Ashley and Lacie met in 2015 while earning their degrees at the University of Florida, and have collaborated on research papers, professional talks at the International OCD Foundation annual conference, and creating and implementing clinical activities and clinical care at UF’s Fear Facers Summer Camp. Ashley and Lacie also had opportunities to treat shared patients through UF’s intensive OCD and anxiety program. Through working together for several years, Lacie and Ashley formed a rich professional relationship and collaborative friendship, and are excited to further their professional relationship and team-based approach in a private practice setting.

Team-based Care Model and Therapist Fit

Ashley and Lacie’s biggest priority is that patients get the most effective care possible. They meet weekly to discuss cases, review treatment plans, and brainstorm ideas to help patients reach their goals. Though Ashley and Lacie both have extensive training in evidence-based practices, they have various differing sub-specialties and clinical strengths. Thus, it may be of their clinical recommendation that you/your child see one particular provider, or alternatively, both providers interchangeably. This is to ensure the best possible therapist fit and treatment outcomes for you and your family.

Ashley and Lacie share core views on the most important elements of therapy. Read below on how they describe these important elements:

Education and Research

We have both received nearly a decade of specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with Exposure Response Prevention (CBT/E/RP) from the leading experts in anxiety and OCD treatment. We strongly believe in the importance of educating patients on the knowledge and skills that empirical research show work to beat fear and OCD, and are committed to continuously informing our clinical practice with up-to-date research on evidenced-based treatments. Check out our research page to view our research experience.

Self-Confidence & Self-Efficacy

Secondly, we believe in the importance of self-confidence and self-efficacy in our patients to use the skills we’ll learn together to overcome fears and negative cognitions. After all, YOU are the expert in YOU! We believe that patients are capable of so much more than they know, and together, with you in the driver’s seat and our team in the passenger seat to help guide you, you can overcome fears and achieve your goals.

Compassion

Lastly, and most importantly, we strongly value non-biased compassion, empathy, and a strong therapeutic bond. Fear, anxiety, low mood, and interpersonal problems all occur in the unique context of each patient’s life, and are often affected by culture, family, race/ethnicity, school/work, and religion. It is our honor to get to know our patients lives and creatively work with them to find strategies that fit within their unique lives.
